Gone are the lazy days of summer and cool crisp refreshments. It’s time to welcome Fall! Outside the air is now cooler and the colors are abundant. It’s Pumpkin spice everything season. Bring a little of this wonder inside and warm up to a hot cup of coffee straight from your fabulous Autumn inspired DIY coffee station.
A little back story…
So, I’ve had a mantle over my fireplace for about 3 years now. We have this awesome brick fireplace with a big hearth, but it just seemed to beg for a mantle. We found an old barn beam and put it up. I was so excited to finally have a mantle!
I had dreams of decorating it for each season. Well, here’s where reality sets in. It went 6 months with nothing on it. That’s right, NOTHING. Then, I finally picked out some items that match the room, and I really liked it. It stayed that way for another couple years. Every season, I thought, I’m going to decorate that… but I just never did.
Guess what, it finally happened. {I know, it’s all very exciting.} And I didn’t stop there. I kept up the fall decor with an Autumn inspired DIY coffee station in my kitchen.
The real reason you need a coffee station
The experts say that people like to feel at home in your home. Do you ever notice how guests will ask… Is there anything I can do? This is why I wanted to create a coffee station in my kitchen. It’s the perfect way to welcome your guests, and it answers that question about what they can do.
I know it seems strange to think you should give your guest something to do when they arrive. But, do you know what I mean when you go somewhere, especially for the first time and you sort of just stand there, feeling a tiny bit uncomfortable?
You want to jump in and get in the action rather than just stand there.
Trust me, your “refrigerator friends” (you know, the friends that can help themselves to your refrigerator and you don’t care) will enjoy your coffee station just as much as your first time guests. And so will you even if no one else is around!
Autumn Inspired DIY Coffee Station
Making your coffee station doesn’t have to be expensive. Have fun with it! Try using things that you already have lying around the house. You can also include a little of the outside by bringing in some leaves, flowers, or other seasonal inspired items. Here’s how mine came together…
First, I grabbed a simple tray. I like this one because the wood has a warm tone to it. Fall and coffee scream warm!
Next I added a couple coffee mugs in my favorite fall colors.
Then, I added some coffee. You guys! Have you tried Dunkin Donuts® Bakery Series®?? They have super fun flavors like glazed chocolate donuts and caramel coffee cake. YUM! Go here and check out all the awesome flavors!
Don’t forget the creamer! Land O Lakes® Half and Half perfectly pairs with any flavor for a little rich and creaminess.
After getting the basics on the tray I added in some fall inspiration. I found this fun free printable sign online. I just put it in a frame I had already.
I had purchased some leaves and pumpkins for my mantle which works well here too. And the little vase with the twigs? I found that buried in a box of decorations. See? Stuff lying around the house.
It’s time to make the coffee!
